Outside of the Box Presents The Boxy Award Winners Reveal!!

It is finally time for Ashley and I to reveal the winners of the 1st Annual Boxy Awards! We talk a little about each of the winners who we hope to get acceptance speeches from and these will be posted in a separate video. You'll definitely want to watch until the end for a couple special awards that were not voted on as well as a BIG giveaway announcement. Congratulations again to all of the nominees and winners!

BattleBots Breakdown w/Ashley Beckman | Vengeance in Vegas ll | Dino Might

For the final BattleBots Breakdown of the season, Ashley and I talked about all of the fights from Vengeance in Vegas II which is on the BattleBots YouTube Channel. These were unaired "freestyle" matches that were not part of the main season. We talked about poor Rusty trying so hard against Hydra, why Terrortops is the robot to watch for World Championship VIII, my campaign to make Gruff a permanent hammer flamethrower bot and so much more. Plus catch our mini discussion at the end about things potentially to come for WCVIII as Ashley is a member of Team Magnitude which is hoping to be one of the bots competing for the Giant Nut next season!

It is another episode of Talkin' Nerdy and this time I sat down with a favorite of mine - Ify Nwadiwe! Ify is well known from comedy shows such as Comedy Bang Bang and Dropout's Um, Actually to the D&D games he has been a part of through both Critical Role and Dimension 20. We spoke about the importance of being your authentic self, his friendly rivalry with Brennan Lee Mulligan and Ify teased some of what is to come in 2024 on Dropout. It was a fun conversation and one you won't want to miss!

Tim Hebert of Chubby Unicorn on Bot Buddies | NHRL | Outside of the Box

It is both colorful and deadly - on this episode I am talking about Chubby Unicorn with builder Tim Hebert. We got into the story behind its creation and how it has become one of the fiercest robots at NHRL, his epic battle versus fellow destructive robot Chainsaw Kitty, and an exclusive look at Tim's newest project which is a flywheel flipper called Pretty Fly. Jack Barker of End Game on Bot Buddies | BattleBots | Outside of the Box

If you love big, scary vertical weapons and a good fork game, you'll love this spirited chat I had with Jack Barker of Giant Nut winner EndGame. We went all the way back to his robot's origins and the journey it has taken during their time at BattleBots. We talked about skill vs strategy, spent time breaking down the fights from the Golden Bolt tournament including the epic finals match vs Sawblaze and we got into Jack and Nick's efforts to help grow the combat robotics scene in New Zealand through Robot Rampage. BattleBots Breakdown w/Ashley Beckman | Champions ll Episode 6 | Battle of the Champs

Ashley and I had a wheely good time breaking down the culmination of Battlebots Champions - the Golden Bolt Tournament where the winners of each bracket faced off with current and former Giant Nut winners. We saw domination by all of the champions throughout the bracket which ended in an epic battle between EndGame and Sawblaze, with another Bolt headed to New Zealand. Hear all the little details that only those who were at filming were aware of as we break everything down. Congrats to EndGame on a hard fought tournament!

It was a night of exciting matchups to cap off the second season of BattleBots Champions' qualifying rounds where the field was full of contenders. Ashley and I talked about every match up including strong showings from a number of teams including Claw Viper who threw everything at Hypershock in the fight of the night. The pizza proved to be too dominant however as RIPperoni came out on top to advance to the Golden Bolt. Robot Roundtable: BattleBots Champions | Outside of the Box

Just ahead of the BattleBots Champions Golden Bolt Finals, I got together with Giant Nut winners Ray Billings, Donald Hutson, Jamison Go, Alex Grant and Aren Hill about their personal journeys as champions. We touched on a range of topics from dipping back into the past and exploring how combat robotics has evolved and how the landscape has changed for those pursuing the ultimate prize and how that evolution may continue into the future. We also touched on the ongoing debate regarding whether Bite Force could dominate in today's field, the power of inspiration and whether making monster truck versions of BattleBots is the best idea ever. This is definitely one you won't want to miss!

BattleBots Breakdown w/Ashley Beckman | Champions ll Episode 4 | Smokin’ Aces

The judges stayed very busy during this past week of BattleBots Champions and Ashley broke it down with me. There were so many close fights including one of the closest we have ever seen between Jackpot and Lucky which ended up sending Jackpot to the final match and on to qualify for the Golden Bolt Tournament. We discussed the major role their minibot Ace played in their victory and so much more. #battlebots #goldenbolt #champions
